One travel blog stated that the Wichita Mountains in Oklahoma are the most beautiful place in nature within four hours of the DFW metroplex. HOTC will find out when it holds its September Rally at the adjacent Great Plains State Park, on the banks of the Tom Steed Reservoir. The area offers water sports, boating, boat ramps, camping, RV parking, swimming beach, playground, picnic areas, cycling, mountain biking and hiking trails. The campground spans approximately 460 acres (1.9 km2) of park land with 56 RV hookups and 30 tent sites. RV sites consist of 14 modern water, sewer, and electric sites and 42 semi-modern sites with water and electric.

Note that all are expected to practice social distancing and wearing of masks when appropriate.

We will enjoy new territory, jump in the lake and have our usual happy hours with bring your own food and utensils. Rally Hosts are Susan and John Coppedge.
The park is at 1400 feet elevation while the nearby Wichita Mountains are at 2400 feet. Temperatures average lows of 60 degrees F. and highs of 85 degrees F.

For reservations: (580) 569-2032.
This rally will be the starting point for the THREE STATE CARAVAN leading to the ALBUQUERUQUE BALLOON FIESTA RALLY.
